The Northside Church of Christ’s first meeting place was in Brother Nathan and Sister Irene Atkinson’s home on Daniel Street. Later the church moved to a one room store front across the street from the Atkinson’s home. After briefly moving to a location on Dorris Street, it became necessary to secure a larger building for the congregation. The church purchased a sizable piece of property on Thomas Street from Mr. Earl Spence. A store front building on the property facing Thomas Street became the congregation’s new home. In this building, the church experienced a great amount of growth.

During the 1970s, the congregation embarked on erecting a building on the property to face Martin Luther King Drive instead of Thomas Street. With the construction of a new building the church would finally have its own baptistry, because all prior baptisms had to be performed at either the City Boulevard or Tebeau Street Church of Christ.

Today, Northside continues to carry out the mission of saving the lost and strengthening the saved in Waycross and surrounding areas. Northside Church of Christ is a Bible-based, Christ-centered church that follows the New Testament pattern. We are a multicultural church where people of diverse backgrounds come together to worship, fellowship, and put our faith into action. We invite you to visit us at  Northside Church of Christ where you will find a welcoming atmosphere, a spirit filled worship service, and a loving fellowship of believers.
